Why was the Otis 2000/2000VF never introduced in the USA?
« on: February 12, 2018, 11:43:51 AM »
I'm actually puzzled by this. Both the UK and the USA had Series 1, so I'm kinda confused why Otis introduced different elevators in the USA than the UK after the Series 1 was no longer being produced.

I think it's related to ASME A17.1.

Do you know why this is?
I think it's related to ASME A17.1.
Could you please explain how this affects it?

you have to consider other versions because Otis 2000 had many different versions(most of them are crap)
-The default Otis 2000(The good one)
-Otis 2000 VF (another good one)
-Otis 2000 Hydraulic(the boring one)
-Cheap Otis 2000 Hydraulic(crap)
-Cheap Otis 2000 Hydraulic branded as express evans(even more crap)
-Otis Cargo 2000
-Otis Cargo 2000 with VVVF
-Otis Cargo 2000 with hydraulic system
-Weird gated Otis Cargo 2000(this one feels really old)

The ones you consider the good ones are the only types I have seen in person. I've seen videos of the hydros and apart from the Otis 2000 fixtures there's nothing really that interesting about them. I haven't really seen many videos of Cargo 2000s so I can't really comment on those.
