Skyscraper Simulator Forum Rules

The following rules apply to every aspect of the forum. This includes the Shoutbox and the Issue/Feature-Request Tracker. Please respect these rules for the benefit of yourself and your fellow members.

General Rules
  • Respect the forum, the staff, and your fellow users. Don't be rude, immature, or insulting!(We now have ZERO TOLERANCE for this!)
  • Be kind, thankful, and patient, and don't argue or fight with anyone here.
  • Above all, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it, you will have your account terminated if you do depending on how severe your comment is!
Posting Rules
  • English is the official language of this forum. Therefore, we ask all members to post in English. Use of translation tools such as Google Translate is a good idea if English is not your first language.
  • Don't swear. This forum is a civil, respectful place.
  • Don't double-post unless necessary.
  • Don't bump old topics unless necessary. An old topic is one that has gone thirty (30) days without a post.
  • Don't Speak Like This With Every Word Capitalized. It's hard to read. Don't use all CAPS.
  • Don't post spam or advertisements for commercial sites. This includes posting links using ad-based link shorteners, such as (use, or a similar service instead). This does not include advertising non-commercial sites such as your website or YouTube Channel.
  • Don't advertise your buildings through PMs. It gets on people's nerves.
  • Don't make low-effort or unnecessary posts. As well, do not flood boards with similar topics.
  • Don't post or link to anything which is illegal or of questionable nature. This includes illegal files, or "warez".
  • Don't use moving (also known as marquee) text outside of your signature. This means not using the  BBC tags outside of your signatures.
  • Don't abuse the post rating system.
  • Stay on topic, within reason. This rule does not apply in the Off Topic board.
  • My Little Pony posts should be discontinued. As of 1-8-18 the My Little Pony board has been retired in an effort to focus on the main project.

    Account Rules
    • You may not join the forum if you are under 13. This rule is in place to combat immaturity. It is also US federal law.
    • Only make one account. One is all you need. This rule includes making accounts for the purpose of circumventing bans and/or warnings. If you are found to have more than one account, at the very least one account will be terminated, and disciplinary proceedings will be take place up to and including a ban...don't risk it
    Other Rules
    • Please do not "lease" rooms or offer "jobs" in your buildings.
    • Don't be a "backseat moderator" (acting like a moderator when you are not one).
    • Don't ask to be a moderator. Not only will your request be denied, but it will lessen your chances of ever becoming a moderator and result in a warning.
    • Don't report posts to the moderators for no reason, or to ask a question. There is a PM system for that.
    • Don't attempt or help attempts to hack the forum or anyone's account, your account will be terminated for this!
    • Respect the work of your fellow users (see below).

At the Skyscraper Simulator Forum, infractions are dealt with on a case by case basis, any violation of the rules can result in discipline. Penalties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Warning (also known as Indication) - with this punishment, a "Warned" message will show in your user sidebar. No privileges will be deducted. This is the least severe punishment.
    • Moderation (also known as Monitoring) - with this punishment, you are not allowed to post without staff approval. This punishment is more severe than a warning.
    • Muting (also known as Banned to Post) - with this punishment, you are not allowed to post to the forum at all. This punishment is more severe than moderation.
    • Banning - with this punishment, you will be banned from this forum. You will not be able to post, log in, or register. This is the most severe punishment.
Please note that depending on the severity of the offense, different disciplinary actions will be taken at staff discretion. If an offense is particularly severe, it will warrant a permanent ban.

Show us respect by following these rules and we will respect you back. We want this forum to be fun and engaging for elevator and building fans worldwide. Showing blatant disregard for these rules WILL RESULT in an instant, permanent ban.

Unless otherwise specified, all buildings and content are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License (CC BY 3.0).
Respect copyright and respect the work of your fellow users. Do not post others' content as your own without express consent from the original creator. Give credit to the original creator(s) if you are modifying ("modding") someone else's content, or if you are using someone else's content in your building. However, you are allowed to post others' content that you have modified or used without attribution if the content is in the public domain or under the CC0 license (or the like).

If you have a question, comment, or complaint, you are welcome to contact any member of the forum staff privately (i.e. through the private messaging system).
