Please Read This If A Building Won't Load (For Newcomers)

If you are having any problems trying to open buildings that you downloaded from this forum, you probably downloaded the main release of Skyscraper from http://www.skyscrapersim.com/.  The problem is that some buildings that are listed in this forum are designed to work for the development builds that come out about every week.

Therefore, if you are having problems, try downloading the latest development build from here:
http://www.skyscrapersim.com/downloads/dev/
You will need to extract the tarball or compressed folder (depending on your operating system) to a folder somewhere on your computer.

Here is a video on how to download the development build:

From the sidebar:
This video should answer all questions as to how to get the development build of Skyscraper Simulator, which allows you to then use buildings created and posted in the Skyscraper Sim Forums.

GUIDE TO THE FILES:
patch-[date].[extension]-This is for if you already have a development build on your computer and you need to update it to the latest version.
skyscraper-[date][architecture].[extension]-The full program.

IF YOU HAVE MICROSOFT WINDOWS:
Download the appropriate .ZIP file and extract it to your favorite location.  Run Skyscraper.exe and enjoy.

IF YOU HAVE APPLE MAC OS:
Download the appropriate -macosx.tar.gz file, extract it, and run Skyscraper.

IF YOU HAVE UBUNTU LINUX:
Make sure your CrystalSpace binaries are installed (see http://forum.skyscrapersim.com/index.php?topic=171.msg1044#msg1044).
If you are running 32-bit Ubuntu, download the x86 package.
If you are running 64-bit Ubuntu, download the x64 package.
Then you will need to extract the tarball and compile the source code (see above link).  After that is done then you may enjoy the simulator.
